# Bind a Slack channel

POST https://api.livingbrain.com/v1/brains/{brainId}/slack/bindings
Content-Type: application/json

Connect a Slack channel to a brain so it receives brain notifications. Configure which notifications it receives with `updateBinding`.

## Authentication

- `x-api-key` header (required) — Your Living Brain API key. Create one from the dashboard; keys are scoped to an organization and carry the role of the member they were issued to.

## Request

### Path parameters

- `brainId` (string, required) — Brain id

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects a BindSlackChannelReqDto.

- `installationId` (string, required) — Slack installation id
- `channelId` (string, required) — Slack channel id

## Response

### 201

- `id` (string, required) — Unique identifier for the channel binding.
- `brainId` (string, required) — ID of the brain this channel is bound to.
- `installationId` (string, required) — ID of the Slack installation the channel belongs to.
- `teamId` (string, required) — Slack workspace (team) ID.
- `channelId` (string, required) — Slack channel ID.
- `channelName` (string, required, nullable) — Slack channel name, when available.
- `status` (enum, required) — Whether the binding is currently delivering notifications.
  - Allowed values: `active`, `disabled`
- `notifyBriefs` (boolean, required) — Whether the channel receives the daily brief.
- `notifyConnections` (boolean, required) — Whether the channel is notified when strong new connections are discovered.
- `notifyChanges` (boolean, required) — Whether the channel is notified when pages are updated with new knowledge.
- `createdAt` (datetime, required) — ISO 8601 timestamp of when this record was created.
